MI opinión acerca de mi fabulosa "Biblia"

Me costó mucho trabajo escribir esto (días) y por eso merece publicarlo....

“SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE"

Maybe it is the fashion. Perhaps it’s the fact of seeing again the four “single and fabulous” women who turned the heat on and made all Manhattan drink Cosmos. Or maybe it’s the four-year wait to see if “Mr. Big” could put his commitment troubles behind. Maybe it’s all of the above. Whatever it is, Sex and the City has become a smashing big hit…What other proof do you need than the $55.7 million opening weekend?

From the designers who would fight for Ms. Parker to wear their costumes; to the press that wrote countless gossips, to the million of fans around the world who would buy the DVD’s of each season…everybody expected this movie since 2004. And in despite of the lousy critics, the “Sex-addicts” had turned the Michael Patrick King’s film into the most successful “R” rated movie of all times, putting behind the $45.1 million of “American Pie” back in 1999.

For those who have read the Candace Bushnell’s best selling book, it can get really clear, that the series got better…a lot. The show pushed the envelopes and created cultural changes. However, the movie is just a memory of what the three-time Golden Globe winning television show was. It was written by King, but apparently, he forgot how to develop a good story line with memorable dialogues and smart jokes, as he himself and the team used to write during the six-year “Sex” life.

As the premiere date approached, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker); Samantha (Kim Cattrall); Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) have got some other million fans. However, I think that, all right, you can understand the movie by itself, but if you haven’t seen the 94 episodes, it is just impossible to get the drama and all the gloom that the picture is about.

Based on the unquestionable success of the film —and as Ms. Carrie Bradshaw would say— “I couldn’t help but wonder”...Is there a chance for a Sex and the City sequel?
